Welcome to Aboriginal CKCU

Weekly Radio Program - Sundays 9-10 am 93.1 FM

Every week, your volunteer hosts promise to feature music from Aboriginal people in Canada.  You are in for a variety of music - it could be some Metis fiddle music, some traditional pow wow music from First Nations drum groups, some Inuit throat singing or it could be some good ole rock n' roll or bluez from either First Nations, Inuit or Metis folks in Canada.

We air at 9-10am every Sunday morning on 93.1 FM.  For those wishing to catch us on TV, go to Rogers Cable 944.  And for all you internet listeners in other parts of the world, you can easily connect by following the link to LISTEN LIVE through the Real Audio or MP3 stream.

Sponsor an Aboriginal Child to go to Radio Camp 101

Aboriginal CKCU is looking for sponsors to cover the costs of sending 8-10 Aboriginal children to radio camp for one week this summer.  The cost for Radio Camp 101 is $250 per child for one week.  If you are interested in sponsoring a child, let us know and Aboriginal CKCU will work with the existing Aboriginal organizations in Ottawa to get ten children between the ages of 9-14 to attend a week long program to learn how to become a radio technician and producer.  And of course you will hear their show on CKCU.  This is a great learning opportunity for the children and it may plant some seeds in their minds about future job prospects.  To demonstrate your interest, see attached document (click here) and then contact Aboriginal CKCU.
